Casa Loma Siphon Barrel No. 1 Fault Crossing

casaloma

HAI conducted a geotechnical engineering investigation to provide design support services for the analysis and design of the Colorado River Aqueduct Casa Loma Siphon Barrel No. 1 (CLS-B1) which crosses the Casa Loma Fault.  The Colorado River Aqueduct (CRA) conveys water from the Colorado River to Lake Mathews in Riverside County, located about 20 miles southeast of the intersection of Freeways 91 and 15, and west of the City of Perris. HAI conducted various laboratory tests including consolidated‐isotropically‐undrained triaxial test (Tx-CIU), Consolidated‐isotropically‐drained triaxial test (Tx-CID) and Direct Shear (DS) test to evaluate the soil parameters for the soil constitutive models used in finite element modeling of pipeline fault crossing in ABAQUS software and soil compression/consolidation parameters for subsidence/settlement evaluations.
